championship after refusing to accept a rematch with Nick Diaz.
Nick Diaz and Eddie Alvarez are scheduled to compete for
the vacant EliteXC lightweight championship at EliteXC: A Night Of Champions.
However, the event is cancelled.
Elite Xtreme Combat ceases operations and folds by the end
of the 2008 calendar year.
